This year David Isbester has been very quiet and giving very little away about the work in his up coming exhibition ‘Mudita’. In past years, Catherine from the River Bank Gallery has usually sold many of the paintings even before the opening night, however this time David has not allowed Catherine to show any of the ‘Mudita’ Paintings to anyone. He says he’d like to focus on his work and make the opening exciting rather than experiencing chaos and distraction along the way. We can be sure though that this will be a very special event for the Gallery and the town.
The winner of the ‘Talls 2009′ Peoples Choice exhibition is Brock Mason. Brock, a teenager, won the award with his painting ‘Understandment’. This was very inspiring to see. Congratulations Brock!

‘Smalls 2009′ Peoples Choice, our BIGGEST exhibition !
‘Smalls 2009′, is our 4th Smalls and it just gets bigger and better every year. This will be an exhibition of about 200 paintings by 70 artists ranging from beginners to professionals. Viewers are asked to participate by voting for their favorite pieces. The winning artist will receive $500. This exhibition is a great way to start or add to your art collection. This exhibition showcases the wonderful diversity and talent we have in our region.
This year we also have the ‘Small peoples Smalls’ which will consist of works by the kids from the local pre-school. This will be vibrant and full of life. This exhibition is a fund raiser for the Canowindra Pre-school.
Also on the same night we will be opening an exhibition of paintings by Denis Bradley titled ‘Down to Earth’
Time to get painting. I’m hoping this will be the best smalls ever and it is shaping up that way with a lot of talk about it already.
