The River Bank Gallery has a wonderful programme for 2009 with some outstanding exhibitions. We also run workshops and classes for professional artists to beginners and children.
This year we are sometimes running two exhibitions concurrently in seperate exhibition spaces. The first exhibition mentioned will be in the ‘Main Gallery’ space and the second will be in the ‘Green Room’ a smaller gallery space.
March 7th
‘Works on Paper’ peoples choice -Open to all artists. A diverse range of mediums including Watercolour, Pastels, Photography, drawings etc. Come and see this wonderful exhibition and vote for your favourite artwork.
April 11th
‘Somewhere Else’ by Lucy Buttenshaw - A solo exhibition of magical work filled with wonder and experience. Lucy’s latest works are sure to reflect her dreamy inner universe.
‘The Spirit of ANZAC’ peoples choice -Open to all artists. The theme of the exhibition relates to ‘The Spirit of ANZAC’. This exhibition will raise funds for the Canowindra Memorial Hospital Auxilliary to acquire vital equipment for the hospital.
May 2nd
‘Remnants’ by Fran Ifould and Emily Jackett - Two fine artists emerging from Canberra with strong connections to Canowindra collaborate in bringing to the viewers attention the importance of responsible tenure for our environment.
June 6th
‘The Hunting of the Rare-Bit’ by Heather Vallance and Peter Lowe - Just add one awesome artist to one smart craftsman. Stir thoroughly.
‘Cicada’ by Rosalie Burns -An emerging artist with high energy, a beautiful sense of colour and form. She is down to earth and yet not quite of this world.
July 4th
‘Smalls 2009′ peoples choice 10X10 - Open to all artists. Ironically this is our largest exhibition for the year with over 200 paintings by 80 artists. A great opportunity to start or add to your art collection or just encourage creativity by voting for your favourite artwork.
‘Down to Earth’ by Denis Bradley -Returning to where it all began. From the coast to the country.
August 1st
‘All Country’ by Ted Lewis and Mick Lewis - The talented Lewis brothers combine forces with Ted painting and Mick sculpting to transform the gallery into what seems more like a journey than an exhibition.
‘Gowi-nee-bu’ by Robyn Brown -We are given glimpses of the dreamtime through the traditional paintings of this wonderful Gooloogong artist.
September 5th
‘Talls 2009′ peoples choice 12X24 - Open to all artists. This is a challenging size for most artists but challenges invariably bring out their best. This is a very exciting exhibition, the works are very innovative and look great. There will be lots of work by a large number of artists. You get the opportunity to vote for your favourite piece.
‘A Few of our Favourite Things’ by Julie Hamilton and Margaret Marshall - Artworks close to the hearts of these two supurb artists from Parkes.
October 3rd
‘Worth a Thousand Words’ by David Lake - See the beautiful colours of our landscape as captured by the palette of this brilliant young artist from New Bridge. His impressive paintings are very collectable.
‘Mixed Impressions’ by Peter Carr and Heinz Rahn - If you like the paintings of Monet and very skillful photograghy don’t miss this exhibition.
November 7th
‘Mudita’ by David Isbester - Come along and see the recent paintings of our artist in residence.
